Filmicview is an independent production company based in London, producing documentary, audio, and factual content for international audiences. Our work includes a podcast that contributed to a Pulitzer Prize–winning production and Albert-certified productions, alongside projects recognised by the Peabody, Grierson, RTS, and Emmy Awards.

Founded by filmmaker and journalist Namak Khoshnaw, born in Iraqi Kurdistan, Filmicview draws on over two decades of frontline filmmaking and journalism around the world. Khoshnaw completed his postgraduate studies in the UK and holds a PhD in documentary filmmaking. His career has been dedicated to documenting the lives of people living through conflict, displacement, oppression, and climate and environmental change, as well as undertaking rigorous investigative reporting. His work is driven by a commitment to telling stories with dignity, depth, and cinematic clarity, and has appeared on major international platforms including the BBC, The New Yorker, Channel 4, and The Guardian.

While operating internationally, Filmicview primarily works across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, with an office based in Erbil, Iraqi Kurdistan. The company brings together local talent and international collaborators, combining deep regional knowledge with global production standards. Through a long-term presence in the region, Filmicview has built trusted relationships and secured hard-to-access entry to communities, locations, and stories that are often inaccessible to outside media.

At Filmicview, we blend cinematic storytelling with a distinctive editorial perspective shaped by extensive on-the-ground experience in conflict zones, climate-affected regions, and complex investigative environments. We understand the demands of international clients and broadcasters while working with deep respect for cultural norms, sensitivities, and safety considerations. This balance informs every stage of our process, from production decisions to shaping the final narrative.

Our work spans feature and short documentaries, podcasts and audio narratives, long- and short-form news and factual programming, as well as investigative and character-driven content addressing conflict, human rights, climate, and accountability for global broadcasters and platforms.

Our mission is clear: to craft powerful human stories that resonate worldwide, while honouring the people and places at their core.
